La Bomba Flamenca, an imaginary funeral service for Charles V

Rehearsing for your own funeral? The Spanish Emperor Charles V simply did it. With all the bells and whistles, he staged a mock ceremony in early September 1558. The rehearsal was just in time: a few weeks later, he actually died. Artist in residence Simon-Pierre Bestion waves goodbye to the monarch in La Bomba Flamenca: this performance immerses you in refined Renaissance music, atmospheric lighting creations, and the overwhelming sound of soloists, choir, and orchestra.
